Holy Rebirth & Canonization Process
The Church of St. Bernard of Clairvaux recognizes that the mystery of holy rebirth is not superstition, but a sacred continuation of divine mission. Rooted in apostolic discernment, the Church has safeguarded a unique and solemn process for identifying and canonizing a reborn soul.
Ecclesial Process of Recognition
- 1. Age of Emergence: At the age of thirteen, if a baptized male or female begins to show qualities, virtues, memories, or spiritual alignment that mirror a known departed servant of the Church, their family or clerical guardian may submit them to the local monastery or parish for inquiry.
- 2. Monastic Assessment (2 Days): A monk or bishop conducts a quiet, prayerful investigation lasting two days. This includes spiritual interviews, review of sacraments, and observation during the Divine Office.
- 3. Convening the Conclave: If the local authority deems the case credible, a formal **Conclave** is called:
- 4 Doves — selected from the Church’s sacred order of 45 spiritual Doves
- 1 Cardinal — selected from the order of 100 Cardinals
- 4. Canonical Visit by a Guardian of the Holy: If the Conclave unanimously affirms the child's alignment with the reborn soul, the matter is escalated. **One of the two Guardians of the Holy**—the highest authority in the Clairvaux ecclesial structure, equal in spiritual stature to the Pope—visits the child. Through private dialogue and divine discernment, the Guardian determines the truth of the soul’s continuity.
- 5. Declaration & Canonization: Upon confirmation, the Church conducts a Rite of Reclamation. The child’s name is added to the Register of Holy Continuance, and a solemn Mass is celebrated for the canonical acknowledgment of their divine rebirth. They are not named a new saint but recognized as the continuation of a sanctified soul.
This process is bound in secrecy, reverence, and holy tradition. It does not glorify the individual but honors the will of God in preserving His servants across generations through mystery and grace.
