Coat of Arms & Heraldry

Sacred symbols of office within the Church of St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Cardinal

The Cardinal's arms feature a crimson galero with fifteen tassels on either side. The shield bears a red field crossed by a golden sword and crozier, symbolizing apostolic succession and ecclesial leadership. A scroll with the Cardinal’s motto completes the composition.

Guardian of the Holy

This coat features a silver shield with an upright sword and olive branch, denoting vigilance and peacekeeping. Above the shield is a black galero with twelve tassels, and behind it stands a radiant cross—marking the Guardian's sacred duty to protect the Church’s holy places and persons.

Senator

The Senatorial arms bear a gray shield with a quill and scroll crossed in saltire. A violet galero with ten tassels tops the arms. The laurel wreath around the border represents wisdom, public duty, and a voice in solemn deliberation.

Dove

The Dove’s arms depict a descending white dove with a golden olive branch on a blue field, representing peace and the Holy Spirit. A silver galero with seven tassels adorns the crest, marking their gentle role in pastoral care and intercession.

Caesar

The Caesar’s coat of arms is crowned with a golden diadem and flanked by a sword and scepter. The shield is quartered in red and gold, showing crossed keys and an imperial eagle. These arms reflect their unique calling to rule justly beneath the sovereignty of Christ the King.
